Lorean Weng’s art radiates the soft, free-flowing spirit of Zen. Her painting’s harmony of colors and shapes, beautifully balanced with exquisite brushstrokes, invites you into a world of beauty and tranquility. With over 20 years of experience, Lorean began her artistic journey studying under Master Artist Dr. Ning Yeh, and has since expanded into acrylics, oils, and Western watercolors, learning from many talented teachers along the way. She loves painting on various surfaces, from traditional rice paper to glassware and canvas. Her Gladiolus painting was awarded the 58th Annual Sumi-e Society of America (SSA) Midwest Chapter award in 2021 and her artwork continues to be selected for juried competitions.
Sharing the beauty of Sumi-e and Chinese Brush Painting is a passion of hers, which inspired her to teach. Lorean offers engaging classes at art conventions, community organizations, paint parties, and seminars. Lorean teaches monthly live online Chinese Brush painting / Sumi-e classes.
