Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, land of rain and beautiful vistas, drawing indoors was a regular activity for Kim. A trip to Sweden with her parents at age 10, gave her additional inspiration seeing the paintings in her Swedish relatives’ homes. After moving to California, she bought oil paints and painted small gifts for family and friends. Between working and painting, Kim took two years of art classes at a local college, then discovered Plein Air, painting outdoors. She took 8 years of PA classes from Tom Brown at Irvine Fine Arts Center and workshops from Jacqueline Kamin and Jim Wodark. “Capturing color and light in a scene, I hope to create a moment in time by stirring joyful feelings and memories in the heart of the viewer.”
