Kim Saccio is a painter residing in San Clemente. A native Californian, Kim was born in San Diego and has deep roots in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she attended the San Francisco School of Art and the San Francisco Art Institute.
For the past 20 years, Kim has continued to develop her artistic practice, centering her work on the natural beauty and social challenges of her home state. In her professional life, she moved from publishing to education, serving as a classroom teacher in an arts-integration middle school, a high-school instructor, and most recently as a disability services counselor for a community college. Kim’s art practice has been profoundly informed by her work with students from disadvantaged communities as well as her experience as an advocate for people with disabilities. In her work, blending text from vintage publications with evocative imagery, she seeks to inspire viewers to practice empathy and compassion in all aspects of their lives.
