Gina Barnes is a native of Southern California where she feels fortunate to have lived her entire life.
A graduate of San Diego State University, Gina earned a degree in Criminal Justice. Ultimately, Gina chose to enter the world of motherhood and stayed home to raise her family of three children. Surrounded by creatives her whole life, Gina always brought a sense of artistic vision into the everyday. After her children grew up, she further explored her artistic dreams, initially through product and interior design, earning certificates from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach, California.
However, it was art that truly fulfilled her creative thirst. Encouraged by friends and family, she transitioned to creating art full time. Largely self-taught, Gina honed her skills through online workshops and personal trial and effort, developing a style characterized by chaotic yet balanced use of colors and forms. Gina has showcased her work in various local galleries and art shows, earning recognition as an award-winning artist. Her intuitive painting process, inspired by daily life, leads to a vibrant style uniquely her own. Influenced by her creative mother and grandmother, Gina’s work honors strong, artistic women. Gina is currently the director at Showcase Gallery in Santa Ana, California.
