My name is David Adamo and I am a freelance artist of various mediums, ranging from traditional to digital. I have also been contracted for projects requiring graphic design and created articles for the non-profit, Mozaik Philanthropy.
I have been a freelance illustrator since high school, however I started developing my art skills and knowledge since my time in college. When I attended community college at Fullerton Community College, I started writing for my fine art courses. The curriculum asked students to visit museums, galleries and any events showcasing artwork. This was the beginning of my observational writing and after completing my undergraduate program, I would continue writing in a more professional setting. After completing my bachelors degree at California State Fullerton College, I joined the AmeriCorps program in 2015. For two terms (two years) I served in various communities, ranging from Los Angeles to Orange County and mostly focused on volunteer recruitment and general operations for local non-profits. I also developed artwork and written pieces based on artwork the communities I worked in.
In 2020, I participated in the first Mozaik Philanthropy FUTURE ARTS AWARD and submitted my piece DEAF. Although I am very proud of the illustrated piece I submitted, I felt that the opportunity to submit a description with my piece rejuvenated my passion to write, especially about critical themes. I continue to write when I can, both as a hobby and within the duties of my career, but someday I hope to indulge my art more. I hope to eventually create more illustrated pieces accompanied with written narrative, lyrics and more. I hope my writings and illustrative bring awareness and attention to those who need it the most.
Since 2020, I have been actively participating in Mozaik Philanthropy, by offering my written works and designs for different categories. Since then, my work has also been displayed and sold during themed art shows at the theme park in Buena Park, CA, Knott’s Berry Farm. I have also created artwork for a new brand called katovial and continue writing articles when I can.
