Carol is a Southern California artist presenting two pieces in her collection of Originals and giclee’s, on heavy watercolor paper. Inspired by her extensive world travels, 7 years living in France and love of boating, her art has developed in many directions. As a young child she grew up sailing on Long Island Sound, N.Y. and later sailed sabots and other dinghies in Alamitos Bay, California. Today she sails a keelboat with friends and family to secluded coves on and around Catalina.
Besides being a mother and a grandmother, Carol taught in Huntington Beach for 34 years, benefiting from what the children offer to her, artistically and emotionally. She has an uncanny talent for capturing unnoticed beauty of nature, personal passion, and history. Although her repertoire has many other large pieces featuring close-up floras and European architecture, Carol is repeatedly drawn to old wooden boats and reflections that tell a story of their own. Picking up a paintbrush later in life has given her a sense of “piece and solitude.”
