Guidlines to Exhibit Your Artwork in Showcase Gallery

 Exhibition Fees (For approx. 8 weeks):
 
  • 2-D Wall space: $60.00 per show and for optional cards and / or shrink-wraps.
      Number of works:
    A. Small: up to 6 pieces size 16" x 20"
    B. Large: up to 3 pieces larger than 16" x 20" maximum 36" x 40"
    C. Mixed: 2 small and 2 large
     
  • 3-D: $40.00 per show for pedestal / cabinet space for up to 10 pieces and optional cards and / or shrink-wraps.

     Exhibiting artists must:
      1. Have been juried by the Showcase Gallery Committee. Acceptance in any OCFA show does not preclude jurying. (How to be juried: See "Jurying Art Work")
      2. Be members in good standing in OCFA.
      3. Pay for Gallery space.
      4. Work the gallery or hire a substitute at $6.00 per hour.
      5. Have all work for sale with no special sales limitations or instructions for the gallery workers

     Quality:
      1. All work must be in top quality condition, ready to hang or display using wire not sawtooth hangers.
      2. Gallery Committee reserves the right to reject work not up to artist's current standards and/or poorly presented.

     Originality:
      1. All two dimensional work shown on the walls must be original.
      . Limited edition sculpture must so state (i.e. "2 of 10").

     "Take-in Day" Procedure:
      1. Check "Take-in Day" in the "Artist's Eye" newsletter.
      2. All work must be delivered on take-in day during specified hours or early delivery arrangements must have been made with the appropriate gallery committee member.
      3. Show layout and partial hanging is done on take in day. Work not delivered on time will not be hung.
      4. All work must be in top quality condition, ready to hang or display
      5. All work must be listed on your inventory sheet; 2 identification tags must be made for each piece to facilitate labeling and sales.
      6. Be prepared to sign up for work sessions; number of sessions depends on length of show and number of artists in show.
      7. Be prepared to pay for space.

     Shrink-wraps: Shown in appropriate displays provided by the Gallery.
      1. Gallery Committee will display shrink-wraps.
      2. Each artist may have up to 20 shrink-wrapped pieces of art; excess will be removed.
      3. All work must be professionally shrink-wrapped or in crystal bags that fit.
      4. Each piece must be clearly marked on the back either "original" or "reproduction" and type of reproduction.
      5. All pieces must be clean and well presented in shrink-wrap.
      6. Each piece must be listed on artist's inventory sheet.
      7. Each piece must be marked with Artist's Gallery Identification number and price.

     Greeting Cards: Shown in appropriate displays provided by the Gallery.
      1. Gallery committee will display cards.
      2. Each artist may provide cards for UP TO 12 pockets in greeting card display racks (multiple cards may be in each pocket).
      3. Cards must be shrink-wrapped or in crystal bags that fit the cards.
      4. All cards must be marked with Artists Gallery Identification Number and price and be listed on inventory sheet.
      5. Cards will be placed in pockets approximately 1.5 inches deep; leave space for browsing.
      6. Please note card pocket maximum sizes. Cards that do not fit in the display racks will not be shown. (Display rack pocket sizes: 7.25"x 7.75", 5.5"x 8.5", 6.5"x 8.5")

    It is the responsibility of the artists to find their own substitutes;
    all substitutes are paid $6.00 per hour by the artist being replaced.
